All centres are keen to ensure that parents are involved in the ongoing development of services so that our services continue to meet the needs of local communities.
Parent Group Meetings are held in each of the main centres and usually take place once a month for 1 hour.
If you are interested in getting involved or becoming a member of the parents group, please contact your local Children’s Centre for more information.
Our Children’s Centres have an advisory board whose job is to work with the Early Help Locality Manager and the Council to ensure that children and families receive the best possible support, care and education. The advisory board ensures services meet local needs and contribute to improving children’s outcomes. It provides support and challenge to the children’s centres and makes sure that action plans and objectives enable all children to make the best possible progress and meet local needs as well as national targets.
Please contact either Marjorie Charrada (Alnwick, Amble, Coquet & Rothbury) on 01670-761496 or Jacqui Gibb (Berwick and Wooler) on 01289-309734 if you are interested in joining our Board.
Do you want to have your say in shaping local services for children and families in your area? Looking for an opportunity to give you a wide range of experience and skills which could enhance your career opportunities? Then why not join our Children’s Centre Advisory Board as a parent representative? You will be part of a team that has a real say in the development of services and will have the satisfaction of giving something back to your community, giving you a sense of purpose and achievement. You could make new friends and contacts and you will receive all the training and support you need. Most importantly of all, you will be helping local children reach their full potential.
Please contact us directly if you are interested in joining our board.
We will soon be launching a new exciting initiative called Parent Champions. Parent Champions are local parents who undergo a comprehensive training programme to undertake the role of a Parent Champion.
Parent Champions play an important role in supporting Children’s Centres to reach parents in the community. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Jacqui Gibb 01670 620461.
